Windows Identity Foundation
Presented by: Luc Van Keer
On: Tuesday, February 23, 2010

An introduction session to WIF.

This session starts with explaining, the most important challenges regarding identity management, authentication and authorization encountered in application development.
Next we take a look at how the new Windows Identity Framework can help to deal with these problems. Using simple examples the roadmap to evolve from applications with ‘hardcoded’ authentication and authorization logic, to applications that support federation and external identity providers will be demonstrated.
The target audience for this session are programmers who need to write applications that behave correctly from the security point of view, without being security experts.

About the speaker:
Before working as .NET Software Architect, Luc was active as system developer, network consultant and IT infrastructure architect on different operating systems and hardware platforms. Today he works on .NET application architecture with a focus on integration aspects.
