Two for the price of one!
Presented by: Kris Van Der Mast & Laïla Bougria
On: Wednesday, September 08, 2010

Something new we're trying: 2 sessions in a row on one evening.

Visug presents the first: Two for the price of one, a new concept we're doing where we give the stage to 2 speakers instead of 1! Each session will take 45 minutes.

Session 1: Shave the matrix (Kris Van Der Mast) (PPT)
Recently Microsoft unleashed the power of their WebMatrix tool towards the world to get people started with web development. This session will give you a taste of what can be done with it and also sheds light upon the syntax of Razor, the new viewengine which will also become a major player in MVC 3 land.

Session 2: Testing: The Good, the bad and the ugly (Laila Bougria) (PPT)

Testing: The Good, the bad and the ugly Come and meet me in this session to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly forms of testing. Learn how to identify the smells in test code and how you can refactor your tests to be more effective, more trustworthy and more maintainable. We'll go through a list of test design principles to adhere when writing tests to get the best result out of them. Let's try to improve the safety net your tests already provide today!

Bio:
Kris van der Mast, an active and dedicated moderator at the official ASP.NET forums, is a Microsoft MVP and ASP Insider. He’s a well known community member of several Belgian user groups. Kris is also a speaker for user groups in Belgium and
abroad. You can find his blog over at http://blog.krisvandermast.com.

Laila Bougria is a .NET developer with more than five years of professional experience in Microsoft technologies. She has worked on several different solutions, going from Windows, to web, communication solutions, code generation, DSL and so-on. Her major focus lies on writing highly maintainable code in the most productive way and prefers to do so in agile environments. For the last two years, she has been working in a self-organizing team and likes to participate in each step of the software development process.

Ordina will take care of the between-session entertainment with a "surprise"!
