In 2014 and 2015 I worked on a project for a large public transport company in the Flemish part of Belgium. In this talk I will explain how we used events to keep the database on the (occasionally connected) buses and trams up to date with the back-end systems. How did we tackle the communication bursts after a holiday period? How did we limit the (expensive) communication over GPRS/3G? Join to get all the implementation details from the trenches!
