As a general manager within the Developer Division at Microsoft Corp., Scott Guthrie oversees several development teams responsible for delivering Microsoft® Visual Studio® developer tools and Microsoft .NET Framework technologies for building client and Web applications. |
Specifically, his engineering team builds and delivers Internet Information Services (IIS), ASP.NET, ASP.NET AJAX (formerly code-named “Atlas”), Windows® Forms, Windows Presentation Foundation, Visual Web Developer and Microsoft Commerce Server.
Guthrie is the co-creator of ASP.NET. His individual technical contributions include the ASP.NET Web Forms page architecture, the ASP.NET Web services infrastructure, the ASP.NET compilation system, the ASP.NET distributed session state infrastructure, the ASP+ deployment architecture, the ASP.NET reliability system, and the ASP.NET HTTP runtime architecture. Guthrie has also been a member of the IIS and Windows NT® development teams.
