Give your .NET apps a bit of bite with the critter stack.

Recently, Wolverine has gotten a lot of interest. Now that couple of commonly used projects in the event-driven have become commercial packages, there is always this knee-jerk reaction. And that's when Wolverine, a messaging and web framework, comes in the picture.

But if you look a little further, you find out that Wolverine is part of a broader stack of libraries. Together with Marten and a couple of support libraries, it forms 'the critter stack'.

This stack has a couple of cool and opinionated ideas in it. In this talk, I'll give a brief overview of what the this stack is, what it can do, and how this could benefit your applications too!

Speaker(s)
Hannes Lowette

Hannes is a developer, a coach and a father of 3.

In .NET development, he has always had a passion for performance, databases, distributed systems and large scale applications. But most of all, he likes playing devil’s advocate in technical discussions by drawing the ‘it depends’ card.

As a coach, he is enthousiastic about knowledge sharing, personal growth and building careers. All this while keeping in mind that the pace needs to be sustainable.

In his free time, when he’s not building LEGO® castles with his kids, he likes to spend time building guitars, playing chess or poker, tasting whisky and doing all round geeky stuff.

You can occasionally find him on an afterparty stage at PubConf or with Dylan Beattie & the Linebreakers.

A developer’s guide to .NET reverse engineering

Have you ever lost the source code to a .NET program, but you still have the binary? Maybe you’ve wanted to protect your application against piracy or intellectual property theft? Or maybe you're just wondering what that buggy library is doing, and what you can do to fix it. This presentation introduces reverse engineering for .NET applications, how you can protect against it, and even how to circumvent some of those protections. In this demo-filled session, you’ll learn all you need to know about .NET reverse engineering and then some.

Building and breaking software since 2013. I like to play around at the lower levels of software engineering to gain a deeper understanding of the tech I'm working with.
